Set beneath the terrace of a contemporary villa on the heights of Erbalunga, Casa Acqua is a 90 sqm self-contained loft, not overlooked, designed for a getaway for two. Facing south and south-east, it looks out over the sea as far as the Italian islands. The living room of about 30 sqm, with its large sofa and a desk corner, opens onto a two-part terrace: one side for sunbathing and the pool, the other covered, for meals and drinks facing the sea. The 3 × 2 m private plunge pool is heated all year round and lit at night by a colour-changing light, for a midnight swim even in December. The 18 sqm bedroom, with its large bed wrapped in a mosquito net, looks onto the pool and the sea; walk-in shower and separate toilet. As the pool is not fenced, the loft does not welcome children under 12.

Casa Acqua is 950 m from Erbalunga, a fishing harbour on the east coast of Cap Corse, with its little port, Genoese tower and waterside restaurants. Bastia is about ten kilometres away. Nearby: the coves and pebble beaches of the Cape, the sandy beach of Pietracorbara 7 km away, the customs officers’ path, hilltop villages and, further on, Saint-Florent and the Agriates desert.

Laurence lives in the villa, just above the loft, and is on hand for her guests throughout their stay. As the designer of Acquadila jewellery, sold since 2010, she is happy to open her workshop-boutique in the entrance hall. She has already welcomed more than 1,000 guests visiting Cap Corse as a couple.
