Logis Escale is a 17th-century tufa stone house facing the Loire, in the heart of Cunault, a listed Petite Cité de Caractère. Once home to merchants and boatmen, then the village town hall and school, it was fully restored between 2019 and 2021 by local craftsmen using materials from Anjou. Its 265 m² spread over three floors: five bedrooms, each with its own shower room and separate entrance, a large living room with exposed beams, a hanging garden leading down to a heated pool set into the rock, a roof terrace overlooking the Loire, and vaulted cellars. A rare place to bring together up to 15 people, with family, friends or colleagues.

Cunault is a Loire-side village listed as a Petite Cité de Caractère, in the commune of Gennes-Val-de-Loire, between Saumur and Angers. Logis Escale stands 150 metres from Notre-Dame de Cunault, one of the largest Romanesque churches in the Saumur area, with a restaurant and its terrace right next door. The shops of Gennes are less than 5 minutes away, Saumur is 15 minutes by car or 45 minutes by bike, and the A85 and A87 motorways are 20 minutes away. The nearest train stations are Saumur, Angers and Les Rosiers-sur-Loire.
Settled in Anjou for more than fifteen years, Petra and Jörg also run Domaine de Joreau, a guest house with table d'hôtes in Gennes. They bought and restored Logis Escale with passion, and are always happy to share their favourite places to enjoy the gentle Anjou way of life. They speak French, English and German.
