Saint-Germain-des-Champs is a village in the Yonne, on the edge of the Morvan regional nature park. Avallon, a medieval town fortified by Vauban, is about ten minutes away, and Vézelay, whose basilica is a UNESCO World Heritage site, about twenty minutes. Exit 22 of the A6 motorway is less than a quarter of an hour away, halfway between Paris and Lyon. The Morvan lakes, hiking trails and the Chablis and Auxerre vineyards are all within reach.
